Marriage

I very much feel that marriage is a sacrament and that sacrament should extend... to that legal entity of a union between what traditionally in our Western values has been defined as between a man and a woman.

Marriage has a unique place because it speaks of an absolute faithfulness, a covenant between radically different persons, male and female; and so it echoes the absolute covenant of God with his chosen, a covenant between radically different partners

Marriage as an institution developed from rape as a practice. Rape, originally defined as abduction, became marriage by capture. Marriage meant the taking was to extend in time, to be not only use of but possession of, or ownership.

It is a lovely thing to have a husband and wife developing together and having the feeling of falling in love again. That is what marriage really means: helping one another to reach the full status of being persons, responsible and autonomous beings who do not run away from life.

I love your insight and perspective on marriage. Based on your insight, you have given me hope and the motivation the me and people in a situation like me to never ever give up on love and the power of marriage inspired by such great love.

Yes two people developing and growing together towards a common goals powered by love is a powerful reason and is very much sanction (Approved) by God!

Every good relationship, especially marriage, is based on respect. If it's not based on respect, nothing that appears to be good will last long.

If we change the definition of marriage to be more inclusive, then it is logical to argue that we should broaden the definition so that won't exclude anyone.

In regards to my reply, you are always welcome and it is always my pleasure. You say you can not say that you are inspiring, but those who truly know you can attest to the fact that you are an inspirational person with morale and conventions that are second to none or to no one.

Marriage is inclusive and more over, it can include everyone if those who step up to the challenge respect and honor it without wavering from the bounds of responsibility that comes with a marital commitment.

marriage is an institution that appears to be going into extinctions. i hope that i am wrong about that bcoz i am catholic and the values that i have learned was that marriage should be, and should be forever...

however, seeing that so many people live together over the option of marriage appears to be on the rise. Divorce and adultery are or appears to be at an all-time high.

my advise for what it's worth is to get to know each other as much as you can and for as long as you can before marriage.

make each other angry, test each other's virtues such as strengths and courage. don’t hole back bcoz marriage is supposed to be forever, so make sure if at all possible to see of the person you are considering spending the rest of your life together with is worth the bonds of marriage.
